“中式英文”容易犯

關(guān)于“中式英文”的錯(cuò)誤，商務(wù)印書館出版上海外國語學(xué)院英語系編的《中國學(xué)生英語典型錯(cuò)誤分析》一書，有一章舉了不少的例子來加以說明。

該書說：“漢語式英語，指一些語法結(jié)構(gòu)上看來并非不通，但實(shí)際上不合英語習(xí)慣的表達(dá)方式的句子?！?/p>

例一：“小李容易傷風(fēng)”，英譯如下：Hsiao Li is easy to catch cold.

此譯誤。英譯應(yīng)如下：Hsiao Li catches cold easily.

例二：“他單獨(dú)處理這項(xiàng)工作是有困難的”，英譯如下：He is difficult to handle the job alone.

上譯為中式英語。英譯應(yīng)如下：It is difficult for him to handle the job alone.

例三：“那間諜當(dāng)時(shí)隱瞞不了他的身份”，英譯如下：The spy was impossible to hide his identity.

上譯誤。下面兩種說法才對(duì)：

It was impossible for the spy to hide his identity.

The spy could not hide the identity any longer.

例四：“他一個(gè)人上哪兒去是危險(xiǎn)的”，英譯如下：He is dangerous to go there alone.

上譯誤，因?yàn)椤拔ｋU(xiǎn)”（dangerous）指的是“他一個(gè)人上那兒去”這件事，不是說“他本人是危險(xiǎn)人物”。英譯應(yīng)如下：

It is dangerous for him to go there alone.

例五：“我膝蓋關(guān)節(jié)疼痛”，英譯如下：I am painful in my knee.

上譯誤。英譯應(yīng)如下：

I have a pain in my knee.

例六：“現(xiàn)在五點(diǎn)鐘”，英譯如下：Now is five o'clock.

上譯誤。英譯應(yīng)如下：'It is five o'clock now.
