“流水繞孤村”

英譯馬致遠(yuǎn)的一曲《天凈沙?秋思》，還有陳受頤。原曲是：

古藤老樹昏鴉，
小橋流水人家，
古道西風(fēng)瘦馬，
夕陽西下，
斷腸人在天涯。

陳受頤的英譯如下：

Withered vines, old trees and evening crows,
Small bridge, flowing stream, rustic homes,
Old paths, westerly wind, thin horse,
The sun setting in the west,
Leaving a heart-broken man at earth's end.

秦觀也有類似的句子如下：

斜陽外，
寒鴉數(shù)點(diǎn)，
流水繞孤村。

這幾句，程石泉的英譯是這樣的：

Look! Beyond the sunset a few chilly, shivering crows
Return to their nests,
The winding river flows around a lonely village.

秦觀被人稱為“山抹微云君”，其婿則自稱“山抹微云女婿”，就是由于這一首《滿庭芳》詞而得名。

這首詞的開頭三句是：

山抹微云，
天黏衰草，
畫角聲斷譙門。

這三句英譯如下：

The thin clouds veneer the surrounding mountains.
The yellowish grass stretches far, joining the horizon.
The bugle notes end at the rampart.

詞的結(jié)尾是：

傷情處，
高城望斷，
燈火已黃昏。

英譯是：

look! Behind us, on the tall city walls,
Lamps and torches are lighted in dusk.

“燈火已黃昏”，原是這樣解的。
